A method for heat recovery from e.g. hot waste water is to use a Falling Film heat exchanger.

The heat exchanger consists of a number of vertical thermo plates and a distributor system.
The distributor system leads the process liquid down past the thermo plates so the energy is transferred to the medium because of the film/adhesive effect.
