TP HEX (Thermo Plate Heat Exchanger) – Small, compact exchanger with large effect

The biggest advantage of TP-HEX is the longitudinal flow on both sides as they have a highly positive effect on the thermal efficiency. The available drop in pressure is utilised in narrow channels which results in a small hydraulic diameter with longitudinal current.

The heat transfer in TP-HEX is better than in regular tube heat exchangers where part of the available drop in pressure is used to reverse the flow around the baffle plate.

Another advantage is the small space between the plates which results in a compact design with a large heat transferring surface per m³ volume. This is especially valued in connection with existing plants where the space can be limited.

Design ensured optimum heat transfer
TP-HEX is basically a standard product. It is manufactured in all the materials that can be cold-worked. With a few adjustments ACO-Engineering makes sure that TP HEX becomes the perfect match for a wide range o fuses within the liquid-to-liquid heat transfer.

TP HEX is designed to create the optimum turbulence – and thereby the best possible heat transfer. Because the heat exchanger’s narrow channels result in a very small hydraulic diameter which, together with the shape of the thermo plates, helps create the desired turbulence.

Low maintenance costs

The thermo plates in TP HEX have a self cleaning effect due to their smooth surface. With this the fouling tendency is reduced to an absolute minimum, and that also applies to the need for maintenance.

TP HEX is constructed with easy access in connection with cleaning. The thermo plate bank can very easily be dismounted and cleaned. The heat exchanger is also available with a fixed bank. This model can be equipped with a CIP-system upon request.

As TP HEX is built as a completely welded structure there are no seals, and thereby many of the maintenance costs connected with checks and replacement of them are avoided. Furthermore the design ensures that TP HEX can endure larger pressure than seal based heat exchangers.
